Spider-Man: No Way Home: release date, trailers, cast, plot and more

Tyrese Gibson, who will appear in the upcoming Sony movie Morbius, commented that the movie was in the MCU, specifically the same world as the Avengers – but Sony swiftly denied this was the case. Thanks to the trailer release, we're starting to get an idea of what might be next for Peter Parker. We can also expect some familiar faces from Homecoming and Far From Home in the Spider-Man 3 cast. Zendaya returns as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Peter's bestie Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Tony Revolori is expected to appear as Flash Thompson.

That court case formed part of the film's first trailer but, right now, Cox isn't confirmed to appear. Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx's Electro, Rhys Ifans' Lizard, Thomas Hayden Church's Sandman and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin will all be back for this multiversal epic, while J.K. We get better looks at Doc Ock and Green Goblin's respective returns, while Electro, Sandman and Lizard's returns are also confirmed as part of the movie's villain-stacked cast. Although the information is not yet available whether the trailer will be released on YouTube immediately after the event, but it is very likely that the trailer of the film will be released on YouTube immediately after the event. While the recent leaks could’ve made Sony/Marvel launch it earlier, a perfect date would now be November 16 since that would be just a little over one month before the movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home: When Will The First Trailer Release?

An alternate version of the film (titled 'The More Fun Stuff Version') was announced by Sony Pictures in June 2022 and was later released in September 2nd of that year. This alternative version had some additional, extended scenes and a new post-credits scene which weren't seen in the theatrical version of the film, taking the total runtime to 157 minutes. MCU fans have long theorized how Jacob Batalon's lovable Ned Leeds could eventually transform into Hobgoblin, as per his comic counterpart. True to form, Kevin Feige has deftly avoiding providing a meaningful answer. This all-encompassing article gives you the rundown of how to watch the MCU movies either by their release date or by where they fall in the storyline. The multiverse storyline will definitely factor into the larger storyline that Marvel is laying out for Phase Four, which we can expect will eventually lead to the next Avengers team up movie .

When Kara's not busy writing, you can find her doing yoga or hanging out with Gritty. Spider-Man 3 is now the only Phase 4 film with a 2021 release date that hasn't debuted footage, but here's when the trailer could release. Tom Holland's third solo Spider-Man film kick starts the multiverse with the arrival of villains from past Spidey films. On Nov. 13, Sony announced a massive trailer launch fan event for Tuesday, Nov. 16. The No Way Home event is happening at the Regal Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles and promises BIG surprises for those in attendance (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, perhaps?).

Spider-Man No Way Home 2nd Trailer RELEASE DATE Update

On-site, you'll find me marveling at Marvel and providing analysis and room temperature takes on the newest films, Star Wars and, of course, anime. Outside of GR, I love getting lost in a good 100-hour JRPG, Warzone, and kicking back on the field with Football Manager. Then there's Sony's upcoming Morbius movie apparently linking to the MCU, too, with star Jared Leto also commenting on the film being part of an "expanding universe" – so a crossover doesn't seem that far outside the realms of possibility.

Given he's back in school at some point, however, we think he (with Matt Murdock's potential help) will be found innocent. But, with his secret identity revealed, that's only the first step in clearing his name, so to speak. Finally, rumors that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil from the eponymous Netflix series have been gaining traction.

Who is in the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ cast?

Along with all this, we've also gotten a look at some stunt work performed for the movie. Footage appeared to show Zendaya and Tom Holland – or their stunt doubles – swinging from a platform of some kind, with MJ apparently in the same outfit as she wore at the end of Far From Home. We've also got a glimpse at another web-slinging stunt, though this one gives away even less about the movie. Plus, Holland released a picture of him in costume on set, double-masked up. Speaking of the Sorcerer Supreme, set photos that appear to show Spidey and Strange together, with Peter waving at the other hero. We know the two will be working together thanks to the trailer, but where this scene takes place in the movie is practically impossible to guess.

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man. Generally speaking, every MCU film and television show can be found on Disney+. In the case of the Spider-Man series, however, this is not always the case. Due to the fact that Sony Pictures retains ownership of the character, it will not be available for viewing on Disney+. Regarding other viewing alternatives, you might enjoy Hawkeye, which is now available for streaming on the site.

Expect, then, Spider-Man's multiverse shenanigans to impact the wider MCU, and perhaps explain how Michael Keaton's Vulture will appear in the non-MCU movie, Morbius. After that, though, who's to say whether Holland will continue as the iconic superhero. He's 25 now so, if he wants out by the time he's 30, he'll only have one or two movies left in him. Now that two trailers are out, we know that the controversial One More Day comic storyline involving Peter's identity and magic may be loosely adapted here. Rather than Mephisto, though, it seems Doctor Strange will be the one to try and alter the timeline. We'll have to wait and see, although a February 2021 casting call did suggest a courtroom scene was being filmed.

Tom Holland is back as Peter/Spidey – but he might not be the only web-slinger in Spider-Man 3. It has been reported that Andrew Garfield is back, reprising his role from The Amazing Spider-Man movies, while original on-screen Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, remains in talks to return. For a full rundown of everything you might have missed in the trailer, check out our Spider-Man 3 trailer breakdown. The good news is that – thanks to the ongoing vaccine rollout and filming having already wrapped (with a spoiler-free set-photo to celebrate) – that release date looks set to stay firmly in place.

Willem Dafoe is also back as Green Goblin, from Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie. There's also speculation that Thomas Haden Church is back as Sandman from Spider-Man 3, and Rhys Ifans may return from The Amazing Spider-Man. We'll only be getting a quintet of villains rather than a Sinister Six, too, but we're okay with that. The film already has enough characters so, outside of Garfield, Maguire and Cox appearing, it doesn't need to be packed with more people, heroes or villains. For a while there, it looked as if MCUSpider-Man 3 might not happen at all.

Jacob Batalon has also shared some photos, seemingly all from the set of Spider-Man 3, which suggest that Peter will be back at school – and then the trailer confirmed it, though we still don't know how that will work in the movie. The day that Spider-Man fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as Marvel has finally revealed the release date of the official trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man film, Spider-Man No Way Home. Craig first began contributing to Screen Rant in 2016, several years after graduating college, and has been ranting ever since, mostly to himself in a darkened room.

It'll be the last MCU flick for a while, too, with Doctor Strange 2 not landing in theaters until May 2022. A previous video showed wild fan reactions inside a jam-packed theater upon seeing No Way Home's first trailer, and it seems that Sony took note of that so that they could recreate it to further boost anticipation for the MCU threequel. In addition to the villains, some highlights include at least one new Spidey suit, some good banter between Zendaya's MJ and Doctor Strange and a call back to a classic Spider-Man moment. That, as well as some casting news and rumors, have led to a lot of fun speculation at what may be in store for Spider-Man.
